That news (press release) came out weeks ago.

I don't know how I feel about a world champs DH there (that said, they sure know how to build a gnarly track) but this is clearly great pick for an EWS event.
If only there was a link with all the informations just a bit higher...

Ooops missed that, sorry.

When is Jolanda Neff's contract due?? She signed with Trek in 2019.
Whenever it is, there is no way Trek is going to let Jolanda Neff go.

Emily Batty on the other hand, should be worried.

I do think E.B. has done her best to remain an asset to Red Bull (edited to avoid embarassment) , with Youtube, Instagram and Photobombing all of the RedBull broadcasts.

Trek is definitely supporting women riders at many levels other than UCI too, and one of them is going to pop someday.

Trek has people who work there paying attention, and hopefully they have already picked up Gwendalyn Gibson.

It would be super awkward if EB is still trying to be an asset to Trek since she rides for Canyon Silly

"Trek has people who work there paying attention, and hopefully they have already picked up Gwendalyn Gibson"

If this is true it may cause some tension within the team having too many fast cats competing against each other, all under the one tent. Let's face it, in a competitive sport, embracing other team mate's success can wear pretty thin after a while.

With two years away before the Olympics, it might be the oppertunity to move on to new team and be the own star in the limelight.

I totally believe GG will go to Trek. Perhaps maybe specialized because they have a spot open as well. As shot in the dark- Scott. Kate got married and will probably have a kid soon and that leaves a spot to be filled.

GG to Trek would be Trek looking towards the future...

As for Kate getting married, having a kid doesn't necessarily mean she would be done racing. Some time off, yes. She wouldn't be the first racer to come back after child birth..

Liked by Trek XC. Does that mean anything?
Probably means that whoever runs the Trek XC account knows how social media algorithms work and engages with other high profile accounts to keep the meta monster happy?

The sad part is Norco was the best at looking toward the future with all riders.

Trek is more of a "let's buy whatever someone else already found" type of company.

(has Trek bought YOUR local mom n pop LBS yet?)

Does more world championships mean a shit ton more money for UCI? Do we need a gravel WC? A pump track ? What’s next? Strider, snow bike? All this but still no Dual Slalom which is probably the most TV ready bike event EVER.

The bigger the company, the quicker a racer has to succeed.. Trek doesn't want to run ads for a top 10 finish..

As much as my boss might like Trek to buy him out, it hasn't happened. Plus, like he said, he would still have to find a job..

It's been mentioned before, but anyone who's goes to spesh in recent memory for the most part suffers on the Enduro side of things. Like since 2015 I don't think there's barely been a specialized athlete who's been top 10 at an event on the inside of a specialized contract and then back to doing ok after if they physically didn't crash out for the rest of their career. For a company who owns the Enduro name, it's pretty brutal. If they couldn't win with graves, I'd be interested if they can win at all.

Hey specialized, prove me wrong.

Any guesses what he'll be riding at YT if he ends up there? The Capra or the Jeffsy?
Would have to be the Capra I'd think. Have owned a few Jeffsy's and while they are great trail bikes, I don't think I'd want to bash one down an EWS course at elite race speeds. Geo is a bit dated as well, the current model was introduced in 2019 and was pretty conservative even then.

Jack Moir selling his Canyon on Facebook marketplace here, this isn't unusual however and most pro's do it to recoup some money. I bought Dean Lucas' 2014 worlds Devinci Wilson. All the unobtanium bits still left on! Should never have sold that bike.

Wouldn't read too much into it.. Most contracts run to 31/12 I believe so he wouldn't be shifting onto a new rig publicly just yet I'd imagine

Where's Reece Wilson in his trek sponsorship? I looked it up and the announcement when they resigned him after the world champs win in 2020 just said for the foreseeable future and nothing of note in the team release Jan 2021 with Verger joining and he's had some absolutely smashing race runs but unfortunately was also sidelined a lot. His original contract was two years so I wonder if he's up for grabs.

Same question goes for Kade & Charlie, both unbelievably fast guys when they're rubber side down

I sure hope Reece and Charlie have another season (at least) with Trek. Both have had moments of greatness but have battled injuries/bad luck. Kade is such a versatile rider, I wouldn't be surprised to see him transition into the C3 Project and race less often. Would be wild for Trek to give any of them the boot IMO.

Which, again, is also ESPECIALLY weird because the Enduro's frame has multiple structural engineering flaws and is about the weakest and least durable enduro mtb that money can buy right now.

Jesse spending a lot of time in Europe after the EWS finished. Unable to get home or hanging around to sign some paperwork?

Yeah Reece is still in the team…. pretty sure he posted a Instagram story indicating that another deal was signed a couple months ago.
