Sam Hill, in an interview at Crankworx Cairns, said that he is keen to be racing more downhill next year.
Unfortunately, he dislocated his shoulder during practice and is reported to have multiple fractures. He will undergo more scans and MRI's back home to confirm the extent of the injuries.
I find that rebranded Santa Cruz Highball in Jumbo Visma yellow very telling with its Cervelo labeling
I don’t think anyone’s trying to hide the links between Santa Cruz and Cervelo but as far as XC hardtails go those two frames look nothing alike. Cervelo top tube and seat stays run in-line, it doesn’t have the kinked seat stays and cables run through the headset. Plus the geo numbers are different.
excited to see where jesse lands. will look so weird not on a RM.
Seems like Specialized or Trek would make the most sense. Either one of them would love to have a consistent podium rider in elite males. Who was the last rider to win an EWS on a Trek or Specialized? Jared Graves?

Well, let's not discount Harriet Harnden's wins in women's elite EWS. But it has been a while since either of those brands had a win in the men's elite category.

It's been mentioned before, but anyone who's goes to spesh in recent memory for the most part suffers on the Enduro side of things. Like since 2015 I don't think there's barely been a specialized athlete who's been top 10 at an event on the inside of a specialized contract and then back to doing ok after if they physically didn't crash out for the rest of their career. For a company who owns the Enduro name, it's pretty brutal. If they couldn't win with graves, I'd be interested if they can win at all.

Hey specialized, prove me wrong.
Charlie Murray wants to prove you wrong.
Finished the season with 2 top 5s and only finished outside the top 15 at 1 race this year, and all that with a win in Trophy of Nations for NZ in his second year as a full time racer.
Jack Moir to another Euro brand
Jesse off Rocky Mountain
Mark Wallace off Canyon
Gracey to Santa Cruz
It will be interesting where Wallace will go. He has slipped a bit in the past few years so hopefully he will be able to get a ride with all the new up and coming talent and a change that would help him in the standings.
Neither Specialized or Trek need to sign anybody to sell enduros and slashes. And as far as supporting the sport at least state side both do a pretty good job of supporting local and regional series enduro. Specialized sponsoring Cody Kelly doesn't do a whole lot for them in terms of international results, but it does do quite a bit in plenty of other areas. It's not like Charlie Murray or Harriet aren't giving both brands some results to be proud of regardless.
It's pretty clear the EWS is on a bit of a downturn while enduro racing is only growing. I think most brands would be smart to focus their resources on a more local level than one international race series most enduro racers don't even care about.
I heard Cody Kelly's shampoo and conditioner requirements are killing the Specialized enduro team budget.
Takes a lot of cash to keep those golden locks shiny.
That combined with the American Dream's skin tight pants addiction, it is surprising they have anything left to pay the riders.

That seems especially weird (or perhaps merely interesting) doesn't it considering the current Enduro model keeps winning group tests and the line is often "this is the one to buy if you're racing".

What the Sunday racer needs might be a bit different to what a pro needs. QED, Jack Moir running a medium Strive while based off the sizing charts he should be on an XL...
Any guesses what he'll be riding at YT if he ends up there? The Capra or the Jeffsy?
Just got word that Worlds will be in Valais (SUI) in 2025, this includes Enduro as well.
This has been known for few years now (First posted Sep 25, 2020 on pb), minus the enduro, which I believe was not confirmed at the time of original release, all of the info has been online for some time now. https://www.valais2025.ch/en/en#2025
But I've just noticed there is is more on that page, the 2024 world cup page, stating 2024 XCO in Crans Montana and DH in Portes du Soleil (Region dents du midi), which means Champery (Also confirmed by VinnyT few weeks ago).
Current World Champs schedule for the future is: Vallnord (Andorra, 2024), Valais (SUI, 2025), Val di Sole (ITA, 2026), Haute Savoie (FRA, 2027).

Well that would be Verbier then. They teased something about their race track today on Instagram.
I don't know how I feel about a world champs DH there (that said, they sure know how to build a gnarly track) but this is clearly great pick for an EWS event.
