USA National Champs are underway at Trestle Bike Park in Winter Park Colorado. If you haven't checked it, Vital's Instagram has a DH trackwalk with Tyler Ervin in our stories today. No significant changes to the DH aside from a couple line options opening up.

Events will be broadcast through Flobikes.com (like last year) with their schedule here (slalom not live, unfortunately) - https://www.flobikes.com/articles/7599156-how-to-watch-2022-usa-cycling…

My gut is that Gwinn wants it bad this year. He seems to be on a mission right now and the new Intense looks like it is working really well on track. The bike looks really settled in both the rough and the corners under both Gwinn and Dak.

There's a big rumor stirring around up here at Trestle that Richie will be on the DH start line come Sunday, anyone have insight or positive proof? It'd be pretty rad to see him battle Dak and AG.....

This winter park Track looks narrow, quite flat and with limited room to create big margins for the world's best (lines, key sections). It's MSA length.. so run times similar to that for elite women. Which is in my opinion too long . The sport has progressed, 3 minutes is plenty to challenge racers and still make a good TV show. This track is by in large dull .

IIRC it was like $130 for the year for all their content? yearly was only option i think, too.

i subscribe to Flowrestling and its the same deal, $130/year annual deals only, I assume it's the same for all Flo_ channels. Flo is a pretty interesting content company.

DH Finals tomorrow! Defending champs in DH seeded in first with pretty good margins (Dak and Kailey). Asa Vermette is on another level in 15-16 juniors and qualified 3rd ahead of Austin Dooley (if his time was counted in pro)!

This is the US nation champs not world champs, it's America's best not the world's best.

While I agree the track is less than ideal for dh racing (national track level tracks should closely resemble what is raced at the top of the international level) there is plenty of opportunities to make time either with pace or in individual sections.

Dak and Kailey take National Champs wins again. There was a thunderstorm delay and rain came down make the race track pretty primo looking on the webcast.

My bad. The results lists I was accessing seem to be really incomplete. I looked at some results Friday that showed only 4 riders finishing the 19-39 cross country race, and the initial posting here only had 14 Mens Pro Downhill finishers. That must have been just the first page or something.

Given USA Cycling’s somewhat checkered history of promoting the sport, I (wrongly) assumed the worst.

Good to see Dak wins another US title. Now to Snowshoe!

Anyone have an update on Chuck? So bummed to see him carted off on a backboard after a crash on Saturday.

Also: race registration for enduro and DH come with a 7 day lift pass for Trestle. I’ve debated entering old man Endiro and then DNS'ing just for the pass, since I'm there watching my kid all week. I bought passes for two days to ride with him and some friends, and it was nearly the same cost as a race entry.

yeah I raced the enduro- was ready to bend over and go buy lift tickets when they handed me my number plate and a 7 day pass. nice.
