There’s some pictures on pinkbike on the transition page labeled “Hannah Bergman rides the 2022 patrol” or something like that so they’re definitely not ditching it

he runs a medium bike i think, based on height should be on a large. i think bernard kerr is possibly the same running a smaller bike

Better look on the Supreme Proto. Def. an other bike than the one in the story. just look at the overall shape and the non fixed rear triangle!

That commencal posted above looks like the current one, am I missing something? The proto bike is quite different.

just browsing the pivot website, looking through their suspension guide I think they let the cat out of the bag for the firebird 29 rear shock. Current model is 230x65 standard eyelet, Seems the new one is 205x65 trunnion which by rights means a 29 inch Mach 6 lookalike I presume.

Spire

Don't think it's replacing anything. Looks like they wanted to build around the Fox 38, and picked 29" wheels F&R (judging by how much BB drop there is). The Sentinel is 150mm travel rear, so something designed ground up to be bigger hitting isn't unexpected.

A 160-170mm 29er is a slot in their lineup that could be filled...

I am surprised more brands aren't doing in frame storage like the Big 2 are.
I figured somehow they patented that so no one else can do it. But yeah I would like that option on more bikes.

Nobody noticed this from Ben Walkers (product manger at scott and champery wc organizer) IG? Looks like gambers rear end with custom front triangle?

About transition, would anyone else want to see alloy sentinel again?

Looks like a horst-link! Would be cool to change it to a high-pivot horst-link. Would be strange to change it only to horst-link, without the high-pivot - given that everyone is trying to catch them

You haven't seen it more because the engineering behind it is very complex. Probably another model year or two before Taiwanese factories get it sorted out. Brands like Specialized and Trek have their own carbon engineering departments, most other brands rely heavily, if not totally, on carbon engineers in Asia. There may also be some patent things to get around but it's primarily the engineering complexity. It's easier to do if you make the frame heavy as hell but complex if you're trying to keep weight down. It also adds a lot of cost to the frame. Huge brands like Specialized and Trek have more margin in their frames because of scale so can absorb the cost per frame better than a brand like Transition.
