2010 Cove Shocker DH frame for sale. White powdercoat. Size medium, will fit anyone from around 5' 7" to 5' 11". Fitted with a Fox DHX 5.0.
This is an excellent downhill frame. The Shocker has been around for years, however, do not let that fool you into thinking this is a dated design. The 8.75" suspension is very plush and really comes into its element in the rough, techincal stuff, however, the bike still jumps with ease and control. Weight is not one of the frame's strong points due to its burly contruction, however, most of the weight comes from around the bottom bracket area, meaning the bike feels really planted and does not feel at all sluggish or heavy. With all that said, the best feature is hidden in the dropouts. The frame is fitted with custom NSB rear dropouts, which displace the rear axle slightly, resulting in a 11mm lower BB, -0.5 Head Tube angle (slacker) & a +3mm Wheel Base. These changes sound minimal, however, these transformed the bike, bringing new life into its geometry.
The frame is in very good condition, and has been well looked after. There are the usual cosmetic issues; chips on the chainstay from chain slap, cable rub and very small dings on the downtube from stones, all of which can be seen in the photos. Most of the bike had been bike taped from the start, however it has been removed apart from the front triangle. There are marks in the paint from where a Fox 40 crown fowling the downtube, however these are only marks in the paint, and I have run a Boxxer since. The black mark in the centre of the underside of the downtube is on the bike tape. The bearings are still running smooth. The shock has been recently replaced. The rear axle is a 12 x 150mm Maxle, and the BB is 83mm. Headtube is 1 1/8". The Maxle has been upgraded to the updated Maxle Lite (not the version with the thin middle section that was snapping hub axles) to reduce the weight slightly.
Supplied with the frame will be; a Hope headset (including matching top cap) with like-new bearings, Hope seat-clamp & SDG i-Beam micro seatpost with i-Fly saddle. There will also be the original dropouts, original standard maxle and a modified ISCG 05 adaptor.
I am looking for £600, and can post within the UK only at buyer's expense (£20). I will ship internationally for £50. Either cash on collection, or PayPal if posting. I am based in Perth, Scotland.
I don't come on here often so if you are interested please email me, craig.falconer@live.com
Thanks
Craig
