Here it is, folks! I have a size large 2005 Gary Fisher Cake 2 Deluxe for sale. I'm the original owner and I've put a few thousand miles on it. The bike is not in perfect condition but it is not bad at all and 100% rideable.
In 2005, they called this "all mountain," but that meant a cross country bike with an extra inch of travel! (In this case, 130mm on the fork. I think the rear travel is about the same.)
Some of the cool features are:
-Carbon seatstays
-Non-symmetrical chainstays
-Fox Float R fork
-Manitou Swinger SPV shock
The grips and bottom bracket are recently new (TLD grips by Odi.) I've replaced the brakes at different times - they do not match precisely. One is a Juicy 3 and one is just an "Avid." Essentially the same products though. You'll need a new headset pretty soon.
There are several cosmetic imperfections and one problem with the front rim. See pictures below. Basically, I bent the rim while changing a very tough tire and when I bent it back the aluminum cracked. The crack did not propagate after the first few rides so I just ran it. It is still doing just fine, but the shape of the rim bead will not allow it to go tubeless anymore.
The best fit for this bike would be a Fisher collector/fan, someone who wants a cross-country machine with a little extra downhill ability, or a casual all mountain/trail rider.
Pedals shown are NOT included. I have some old school cage style ones if you want 'em.
Please respond here or text me at (760) four twenty- two five 74. If you call, please leave a message.
