Dig into photos from Jack Rice covering the weekend
Just 15 years old, Aletha Ostgaard took home a Pro Women's win against some serious competitors! She can't even race the World Cup yet.
Dakotah Norton letting his locks flow to take the Pro win by .85 seconds with a 1:50.349. The short, fast track was dusty and dry on race day making for a tricky, sprint-like affair. The real question: Will Mondraker perform wind tunnel testing to see if Dak should go all flow or pony tail on World Cup race day?
Gavin Tomlinson givin' a yank at the top.
Kailey Skelton was pinned all weekend. She was green in finals through the last split. The last jump got the best of her just feet from the finish line. Her Instagram update says she's bruised up but will be back soon. Glad you're ok!
Ryan Pinkerton had a mechanical in seeding and was the first to drop in on race day. He held the hotseat for a long time, ending up 4th overall.
Matilda Melton was flying in Cat 1 17-18. She was headed to a win until she went OTB on the last jump. She finished 2nd in her class, five seconds off the pace. Her last split was a 1:57 compared to 1:58's of the fastest pro women!
Tilly's OTB. She gets up and crosses the line for 2nd place!
Austin Dooley was on fire with a 1st place seeding and a 2nd place overall by just .85 seconds. #USDH is looking good in 2024!
Crispy had a great weekend. 5th overall but just 2.4 off the winning time.
Lucas Dedora, 1st place Junior 17-18 Cat 1 with a 1:54. He would have top 10'd the Pro field.
What up Josh Hill!
Come on now! David Kahn making shapes!
Erice van Leuven showed up all the way from New Zealand. She posted up a solid 3rd place finish in Pro Women's class and now heads off to Europe.
The start of something good.
Neko racing and scheming with all kinds of ideas up those tight sleeves.
Rumors were flying about that Richie was doing homework in hopes of getting his CDL.
CDL as in Complete Destroyer License. He had a strong seeding run but settled for 14th on race day.
Luca Shaw starting to feel at home on the bike we're not allowed to see yet. Do you think he knows what's under there? 3rd place for the local pinner.
Frida Ronning made up for a lackluster seeding with a 2nd place finals run, just .5 off Aletha's pace. Not bad for someone who had to ditch school to attend the race. A great start to the season for the UNION rider.
The crew that makes it all happen!
This guy right here. Clayton Harper, the reason the Monster Pro DH Series exists.
You know it's a legit mountain bike race when Missy is in the house!
Generations. And does Ben Wilson work out?
The only podium shot we'll run in today's show (besides the title image). Why? Because 2nd place has a Swampfest shirt and Coors Banquet hat on. As Schroeder says, not all heroes wear capes.
The future of #USDH is bright thanks to Clay, his crew and all the racers showing up to send it!
Thanks to Jack, Clay and his crew, McLure Bailey for the POV and The Great Nicolini for Vital RAW. Can't wait for race 2 at Mountain Creek, New Jersey, May 24-26!
