When you're trying to win a grueling, 12-minute DH race for the 5th time in a row, every little bit helps. For Marcelo Gutierrez, beyond tweaking his suspension and adding a little air to his tires after flatting in practice, that also means running a dropper post. That's right, to give himself an extra chance of resting during such a long run, Marcelo slapped a Reverb on his Glory.
Marcelo discusses winning Garbo five times as well as his bike setup for the race:
For the rest of the build, Marcelo relies on the Giant Factory Offroad Team's proven portfolio of parts: SRAM/RockShox on suspension and transmission, Super Alloy Racing spring on the shock, with Marcelo still on the previous generation of Avid Code brakes, a Truvativ cockpit, and Schwalbe tires.
