Miranda's new XMOD crankset focuses on flexibility. This crankset has been designed to allow you to swap out every component to fit just about any bike thanks to the use of a modular design. Simply loosen the 8mm crank bolt and you're able to pull everything apart very quickly to clean, service, or change things up. The XMOD comes in both carbon and aluminum varieties with the carbon crankset weighing just 423g, giving the best in the market a run for their money. Miranda offers cranks in 165, 170, 172.5, and 175mm lengths. The spindle is made from titanium which helps keeps the weight considerably lower.
Miranda Chainflow Chainrings
One thing that really caught our eye is Miranda's patented T-shaped chain retention system on their chainring, called Chainflow. The T-shape on the teeth provides added contact on the chain while pedaling and helps shed mud in gross conditions. Viewing the chainring from the side you'll note a hook shape, which gives additional vertical chain retention. The Chainflow ring is available in multiple BCD’s to fit many bikes. We were really impressed by Miranda's drivetrain test rig which you see in the video above. It demonstrates exactly just how well the system can keep the chain on under some ridiculous bumps and side loads.
