A Bike Fit For The King!

Sam Hill's Nukeproof Giga 290c is ready for EWS Round #1 next week.

The flat pedal thunder from down under is flaunting a freshly built Nukeproof Giga 290c going into 2021 Enduro World Series!  Precisely put together by Sam’s long time, legendary mechanic Jacy Shumilak, sit back and relax as Jacy slaps together a bike built for The King.

Sam’s is riding a medium Giga 290 carbon frame with custom team edition color way. Suspension is handled by a Rockshock Zeb Ultimate fork and Super Deluxe Ultimate shock with bearing end bushings. A nice touch for smooth shock compression that is found stock on Elite and Factory Giga builds! SRAM parts take care of brakes and drivetrain duties with Code RSC brakes and an X01 AXS drivetrain being Sam’s choice. Additional electronics include SRAM AXS Reverb dropper post and steerer tube mounted Wahoo Elemnt Roam GPS. Sam’s Giga 290c is littered with his own signature Nukeproof parts but this go around he opted for black over oil slick colors. He is running his signature 20mm rise, 31.8mm bore handlebars cut to 750mm wide, signature grips (ODI Ruffian half waffle, anyone?), signature Horizon saddle and signature flat pedals.  Final build details include MRP carbon AMg chain guide along with Michelin Wild Enduro tires mounted to Nukeproof Horizon V2 wheels front and rear. And to leave his own personal touch, Jacy added additional frame protection with his own mastic tape chain slap layup variation. An addition to downhill and enduro race bike we’ve come to expect from top level mechanics. Death to clunkers!

After choosing to sit out the modified and short 2020 EWS season due to Covid-19 travel restrictions and health concerns, we would assume Sam Hill is more motivated than ever to get between the tape. Because of the difficulty to organize an all-encompassing series last year there were no EWS series champions crowned in 2020. So technically, Sam is the reigning EWS Champion and will be chasing his 4th overall EWS title going into the double header opening rounds in Val di Fassa, Italy next week. An insane achievement to have within his reach, Sam’s long and successful career already stands impressive in the results sheets. With the launch of both the new Mega 290c and Giga 290c earlier this year, it will be interesting to see which bike Sam chooses from Nukeproof’s awesome quiver. Will he'll stick to one bike for the entire season or pick whichever bike best fits each venue? Time will tell...

For now watch some classic Sam Hill ripping and get inspired to drop your heels, drag a foot and hit some inside lines!

And if you haven't already give Sam's Inside Line Podcast a listen to get some insight into his life the past year and leading into this season!
