SDG is well known for their saddles and non-dropper posts, so it only made sense for them to explore new solutions in the dropper post realm. They’re seeing some big success already with their Tellis dropper seatpost. We’ve already detailed the Tellis here on Vital before so we won’t go too deep into it, but we will say that our first experience with using the post went incredibly well. The post has a very smooth, easy-to-actuate lever feel and feels very solid in hand. We’re intrigued to see how this one will do in the long term. Keep an eye out for a future Vital MTB review.
SDG also introduced us to a new line of saddles that use a nylon glass base designed in a way to allow the saddle to flex better on the sides so it can move with you while you’re pedaling. If you look closely, you’ll notice that the nylon glass base is angled inward versus outward which allows it to flex on the edges. SDG plans to create multiple saddles with this base style over the next year.
Another item that really stoked us out at SDG is the Jr Pro Kit which retails for $149. The kit contains four SDG components designed to tune up any grom’s ride. The Slater handlebars are made with SDG’s own custom tooling and have a thin 19mm outer diameter at the grip and control area. This allows SDG to also make smaller 25mm diameter grips that still have a bit of padding to them to give the young 'uns a bit of comfort. The bars have a 15mm rise and a standard 8x5-degree sweep. The Jr Pro Kit also contains the Fly Jr saddle which looks the part and can also be purchased separately for just $39. The final item as a nylon composite pedal with replaceable steel pins, a chromoly axle, and sealed bearings. The platform measures 90x90mm, has some added traction via the molded ridges you see, and can be purchased separately for $49. We think this one will be a rad Christmas gift for future and current shredders around the world. Tell Santa.
