As told by Seth Kendall – Employee at Jenson USA
What started out as a trip to Mammoth to hang out with the Intense guys at Intensapalooza turned into meeting one of my personal heroes – Motocross star, X-Games legend and all-around cool guy, Ronnie Renner. Being a Southern Californian, I have seen him up at the Snow Summit bike park, but never got the chance to meet up with him. Lady Luck helped out by putting Ronnie and the Jenson USA crew at Mammoth Mountain at the same time. Ronnie seemed to be having an issue with his bike and I went over and introduced myself and was able to help him out. Sure enough, he was as cool as I thought he would be. We talked cars and bikes and he let me know that he had a couple of GT Bikes he needed to put together and was looking for some help to dial them in. The Jenson USA’s HQ in Riverside isn’t too far from his hometown, so I offered to help out. Next thing we knew, we had Ronnie at our shop with boxes of gear from GT, Shimano, Fox, Deity and Industry 9!
The build was awesome and Ronnie was super stoked to get the bikes dialed and ready to go. Our head mechanic Doug was tasked with putting the whole build together using Ronnie’s instructions. It was important to make sure the levers were mounted “moto” style and that we could color coordinate the FOX decals on the fork with the rest of the bike. Now Ronnie’s GT Fury and Force bikes look and ride amazing and are ready for the trails. Check out some pics of the build.
If you missed it, have a laugh with Ronnie during his 17 Questions earlier this year.
