Thomas Lapeyrie went from Pro to Privateer this year, which is already a challenge in itself. Add to that a global pandemic, and it may seem like the universe is being particularly difficult with Thomas at the moment. But Thomas is driven by passion, which has driven him to keep it pinned even when the odds appear to be stacked against him. Instead of racing, he has taken that passion and applied it to a short film project that showcases the region that Thomas calls home as well as his insatiable appetite for trails - and life.
"To be lost is to find what's truly hidden inside of you" sounds like something you'd read on one of those motivational posters, but that doesn't make it any less true - or profound. Life as a rider is full of rich experiences and amazing moments, moments that Thomas lives alone with his dog Jean-Biscuit or with a few friends, shredding it up in the forest.
This movie also shows who Thomas really is. Between the born racer who grew up competing and the child full of dreams who just wants to ride, enjoy, share, and get lost. Not a simple, single personality but a mix of several people who are all showcased in this project. Good rides of course but also kind of a renaissance, complete with injuries, scars and above all love for the adventure.
