A One-Piece Carbon Wheel? Syncros Makes Spokes and All Part of Silverton SL Wheelset - Sea Otter Classic 1

These wheels are wild! Presented to the public for the first time at the Sea Otter Classic, Syncros touts a 100% increase in torsional stiffness and 30% in lateral stiffness over their previous top of the line XC wheelset as a result of the one-piece carbon design. They also claim being 25% stronger than their closest competitor. And those carbon spokes? 35% stronger than a comparable steel spoke from DT Swiss, according to the brand. The end result is an utra-light 1,250 gram wheelset.

The goal with our new Silverton SL cross country wheelset was to build the fastest, lightest wheel possible. Our engineers studied lateral and torsional stiffness, as well as mass distribution, to come up with the optimal carbon layup.
