6D's New ATB 1T EVO Helmet at Interbike 2

6Dwas buzzing at Interbike, as they were recently awarded the $500,000 grand prize for the Head Health Challenge III. 6D's proprietary Omni-Directional Suspension™ (ODS) technology, created with partner Dynamic Research, has been developed for use in a multi-impact helmet application. Supported by NIST, the NFL, GE and Under Armour, the Head Health Challenge III’s mission is to spur the discovery, design, and development of advanced materials to better absorb or mitigate forces within helmets, pads, and other products used by athletes, first responders, military personnel, and others who face potential head impact injuries.

6D's ATB-1T EVO open face trail helmet with 3/4 coverage is an update to their existing ATB-1T with enhanced ODS system features. The lid costs $249.99 USD, comes in XS/S, M/L and XL/XXL sizes and is available in six different colors.

The refined ODS system of the ATB-1T EVO has increased travel for greater three-dimensional displacement in compression, shear and rotational impacts. The ODS carrier is lighter, thinner and smoother offering lower friction while they've diversified the damper designs. There's the 'crown' damper on the upper part of the system for suspension and damping control and the 'ring' damper on the lower perimeter that handles shear performance.
