Crankworx Rotorua athletes traded their bikes for Luge carts Friday morning and took on the twists and turns of the Skyline Rotorua Luge in a 3-wheel battle for glory.
The CWX Luge Challenge, organised by Skyline Rotorua, saw athletes such as Remy Morton, Kelly McGarry, Reon Boe, Mick Hannah and more take a break from the MTB action for a different kind of wild ride.
Conor Macfarlane took out the title with some impressive passing maneuvers on Trish Bromley and Samantha Hitchcock, who claimed second and third.
The challenged proved a fun diversion from a busy week of Crankworx competition, and the riders put in four additional Luge runs before they were through. As Skyline Rotorua says, when it comes to the Luge, “Once is Never Enough.”
