Additional Info

This bike has proper wide rims, wide tires, dropper, and 120mm fork. If I went full weight weenie with Fox SC32 (-200g), ultra light rims (-250g), no dropper (-200g), and SLX frame (-250g) it be in 20lbs range. But I wanted a fun, capable, affordable light bike. And those extra 2lbs saved me a lot of money and make it so much more fun to ride. So far I have put 500+ miles (and several races) on it and it’s a weapon! An incredibly capable light weight fast bike. I am not MVDP, but the bike sometimes makes me think I can be (jk, but it’s a fun fast bike).

Here’s run down of the cost: $2999 for complete build from canyon. But it was the basic nx Eagle build. I gutted it and only kept the frame and the rear shock. To start I did use some parts I already had: carbon wheels, cranks, & bars. But I bought everything else new: fork, drivetrain, brakes, dropper... I waited for good prices on the parts I needed, and put everything else on eBay at top dollar. It took a while to sell, but eventually I sold everything. So net spend on the bike was $3,277!

(if you factor in another $800 for the wheels, $50 for the bar, and $350 for the crank it’s still less than $4,500 for a bike that’s comparable to any $8,000 machine).
