I skimmed past the part about oval chainring. That is even more interesting. So you have good tension at all points along variable chainline length due to oval? No dropped chains or overly tight chain tension? There must be more room for “error” in a non tensioning device setup than i realized.

I was too. I have seen and read many single speeders used an oval chainring. Though some uses ebb and sliding dropouts, that is the same principles with a fixed dropped out after tightening the bolts. Just lucky to have a magic gear.

Since tension is fixed. Cannot adjust it because of no sliding drop out. I used a narrow wide cogs too, 11 speed chain. Principle of narrow wide chainring on dropped chain is also in effect on the cog. Minimized side to side movement of chain

Im just surprised a single speed setup works with an oval chainring and no tensioner (such as shimano alfine or an old derailleur with limit screws pushed in) to allow for changing length from back of rear cog to front of chainring. Interesting to know that can work.

That is awesome. Do you mind sharing you gearing tooth count combo front and rear? I didnt see that in your specs. Stylus frame is on the top of my list and my only hesitation has been question about ability to run singlespeed. And waiting for availability of course.

Looks dope! How did you go single speed? Doesnt look like you used a tensioner or essentric bb. With a half link?

And what do you use this for? I am looking at a similar build with a 140mm fork for mellow dirt jumps, jibs and some trail riding.

Magic gear!
No half link. I use oval narrow wide chain ring and narrow wide cogs.
I’ll use this for some flowy trails. Single track trail riding. And some cruising.
