I wanted one of these badly when I first started working in a bike shop. They were almost $6000 brand new! I saw this one pop up on Craigslist a few years back and had to have it. The first owner converted it to a Sachs 3x7 rear hub so he could ride it uphill. I found a second SuperV4000DH a few years later with the stock rear wheel, so I traded for that one. It's almost completely stock. And I'm a big nerd.

Awesome mate! About the same time as this I was rocking a Cannondale Killer V 500. Fully rigid, polished aluminium frame. Think I'd just upgraded to XT V-Brakes. Worked 3x morning and 3x evening paper rounds for a year to save for that bad boy. Would love to know if its still around and buy it again!

Amazing that today's aggressive 26 pound trail bike could probably slay this thing. How far we have come... love seeing the older bikes thanks for posting it up!

Reminds me of my first real mountain bike, I had the SuperV3000. I loved it and would still have it today if it were possible to get the rear shock rebuilt. I sold it 3 years ago for $300. I bought it from a garage sale in 2000 for $100. Suckers had no idea what they had. Thanks for sharing.

I dreamed with this one too... I had the opportunity to get one and did it... but it was not complete original... not even close to it, haha... but I can say I had one of those!

The brakes really seem to had came right from a motorbike. Just a few descends to make you feel back in the days should be fun. The sky high bb must feel strange too.
