This thing has a pretty high pivot, so it must have tons of anti squat and chain growth. Do you notice any chain pull or drag on the suspension? The peanut gallery would say this bike could benefit from an OChain

Massively - had one on my 2019 Stumpy Evo and really liked it, the effect is even more pronounced on this bike. Tried it with a standard ring the other week on a usual track that I know well and constantly felt like the bike was breaking traction under braking on chunky sections, and feet felt lots less secure on the pedals too.

Is there some reason for this layout?

Owner of similar bike here, so i can see, what my bike is doing under me. Not in bad sense, i love compliance of steel. But Trunnion...

Anyway, nice beast that is!😉

Good question! I already had a 225x70 trunnion shock as I'd been planning to get a Norco Shore frame kit but then availability in the UK was really bad. So I decided to design around the shock I had in hand (at the time a DHX2 2021 model), it's all worked out great. Definitely think the DHSign FixShock helps in terms of stopping binding etc though, TBH I'd probably recommend one on nearly any FS frame just to help isolate forces 😀

You live in GB. In GB there's basically no high mountains. This bike has 180mm of travel. Does someone really need a bike with so much travel in GB? I mean, the bike is heavy, really heavy. How do you pedal up the hill or do you only use shuttles? If so, wouldn't it be better to buy a DH bike instead? Do you really use the full potential of this bike? Wouldn't a 120mm XC hardtail be enough for most GB trails? I'm not a hater, just curious. I live in the southeast of Spain. The terrain here is definitely one of the toughest world wide. I think, your bike would be to much here. Even for Spain. I could never ever pedal up a hill with such a heavy bike. Props to you man! I would be definitely overbiked. I have a custom Rocky Mountain Instinct Powerplay, custom Unno Burn, custom Unno Ikki, custom Unno Mith.

We don't have a lot of big mountains, but we do have a lot of big natural terrain in places like Scotland, Wales, Yorkshire, Lake District etc, which is similar to some of the big natural DH locations in other places - but we don't have many uplifts/lifts. So it  makes sense to have a bike that can pedal up and then blast down like a mini DH bike 👍👍

Also gives me scope for European trips and just one bike to think about - I've happily used this one all day epics!

Maybe you should tell Gee and his mates that they should be on some XC bikes? 

You could build a dead smooth flow trail in the Alps, and many have been. Elevation does not *necessarily* correlate with Gnarly.

Tasmania is Australia's most mountainous state, with more than 450 peaks rising across its terrain. Red Bull Hardline is a contest where all the big features are made by hand,... All the big jumps and obstacles are made by men! Don't be a hater and try to understand what I wanted to say. There is absolutely no need in owning a bike like this in England. Let alone him saying: Also gives me scope for European trips and just one bike to think about - I've happily used this one all day epics! Such a heavy bike is hard to pedal up a hill. Straight facts! It's easier to pedal up a hill with a 13 Kilo bike than a 18 Kilo bike. Vital MTB was always full of haters. I have 7 down votes,...

It just wouldn't be much fun, fast or without risk of destroying everything. We've got absolutely loads of this big, rocky, chunky terrain here in the UK. What we lack in elevation we make up for in steepness and gnarliness - see for example the iconic old Dragon DH tracks in South Wales where so many legends came to prominence.

Yeah an XC bike is doubtless faster uphill, but I'd be compromising the bits I care about (riding up to then descend big terrain), and in all honesty, as a time pressed dad of a young family, if a heavier bike means I get more workout points in the same time, then that's an extra bonus!
