World's Heaviest MegaTower 15
Parts
General Info
This is my do-everything mountain bike. I prioritize descending ability over climbing, and I hate worrying about breaking parts or flatting tires when I ride, so over the years my bikes have gotten heavier and heavier and I've just gotten used to the weight. I still do cross country rides on the Megatower, and I did my longest mountain bike ride ever this summer on the bike mostly as pictured (I had an air shock and a Fox 36 at the time). For XC rides I add 5 psi to the tires and lockout and it works great. Turns out you can still pedal a heavy bike uphill, it just takes a little longer. In a dream world, I'd have a second set of wheels with rotors, a cassette, and lighter tires that I could swap to for mellower rides. Until then, every ride is leg day. The bike also includes a Specialized Zee bottle cage w/ SWAT tool, MuckyNutz short MugGuard, and K-Edge Garmin mount on the steerer tube. And yes, I actually wanted a 150mm dropper.
