Donate to Win a Santa Cruz Bronson and Support New Trail Development

Santa Cruz, California (October 25, 2021) – Santa Cruz Mountains Trail Stewardship (SCMTS), a 501(c)(3) trail stewardship organization, today launched its “Support Trails and Win a Santa Cruz” giveaway. In partnership with Santa Cruz Bicycles, SCMTS will give away one Bronson X01 AXS RSV mountain bike worth $9,849 USD to raise funds for local trail stewardship and maintenance throughout the Santa Cruz Mountains region. Santa Cruz Bicycles’ PayDirt fund will match the first $20,000 contributed to the campaign, doubling the impact of early supporters. Santa Cruz Bicycles is a longtime supporter of SCMTS, and together, the organizations have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for trail development and maintenance. Most notably, Santa Cruz’s last giveaway with SCMTS built the popular Sawpit Trail reroute in Soquel Demonstration State Forest to bring a mile of brand-new, natural-terrain singletrack to the area. Santa Cruz Bicycles’ PayDirt fund also recently helped rebuild and reopen the Westside Pump Track in the heart of Santa Cruz’s Westside neighborhood.

SCMTS has set a $100,000 fundraising goal for this bike giveaway to get a jump start on new trail development plans at Cotoni-Coast Dairies and improve trail maintenance throughout the area’s most-used public open spaces. The group has plans to build over 19 miles of new trails throughout Cotoni-Coast Dairies National Monument in the months ahead, plus offer continued free Trail Academy trail building courses and host many more 60-person Dig Days at various parks throughout San Mateo, Santa Clara, and, of course, Santa Cruz Counties.
