2023 NW Cup #5, Kellogg, ID 6

The beginning of August brought the NW Cup family to the always-popular Silver Mtn. Bike Park -- home of the longest gondola in North America.  Riders would load the gondola each morning to ride the race courses on the upper mountain and enjoy the fantastic views (and slightly cooler weather). This year Chair 5 and 3 were running simultaneously allowing more practice for each group as the load was better spread out.  With the threat of looming thunderstorms all week, the riders started out with dry and dusty conditions, ending with perfect dirt for the Pro Finals. Luckily lightning stayed away and did not hamper the weekend's schedule.

At the end of the day it was Ella Erickson and John Richardson taking Pro wins, with Taylor Dunn and Aletha Ostgaard taking the fastest male and female times on the day (both Cat 1 18U riders).  The juniors still rule!
