I've done something similar with my old Vertex. It's been kinda resto modded with a bunch of componentry off a Yeti 575 that I retired a few years ago. It has a150mm Rockshox Revolution fork, chris king headset, Thomson layback seat post Rental 50mm stem and fat bar lite 20mmrise and 760mm wide, Zelvy Carbon rims laced on Chris king ISO hubs, Maxxis Minion 2.4" up front and Larsen TT 2" on the rear sram xx1 drive, XT hydro brakes, and of course Oury grips. The best grips by far. It's lite yet rowdy. I have to say, I do wish I could lengthen and adjust the angles of the top and down tubes just a touch so as to get the BB back to it's original geo. But Keeping the head angle where it's at now with the 150 forks.

Whoa that sounds like an ultra rad resto-mod. Gotta have the Oury grips! They just look so perfect on these retro bikes.
