Additional Info

Not sure about weight, this build (and all my builds) focuses on reliability and performance. I'd call it a very light DH bike or a porky AM bike.

The trails around me are real rough and steep downhill with some monster uphill fireroad to earn the turns on with some flattish singletrack thrown in the mix.

This bad boy absolutely monsters the downhill parts and it very playful. I find it ok to pedal up, but I really couldn't care too much about getting uphill very fast. The Hammerschmidt 2x9 setup works brilliantly for nailing techy sections since you can be in a heavy gear coming into a bit and then shift without cranking to be in an easy gear for the upcoming techy part.

Combined with the Profile Elite hub (204 engagement) the drivetrain feels like a good quality normal setup, but with no chain drops, tons of clearance and 2x9 setup instead of a 1xsomething setup.

Admittedly the Hammerschmidt is very heavy, but the weight is low down and center, so you don't really notice it when riding.

I've fiddled with a few tire setups on this bike and ended up with the DH configuration simply because I enjoy hitting those parts hard the most. A little more suffering on the ups is well worth it for me.

This to me is the do-it-all bike if I even had to only have 1 bike...
