It looks like arek is the only one to have won multiple pieces of SRAM hardware. So considering we don't know what season standings prizes are yet, perhaps they are still the biggest winner here?

In other news, it appears that my moneyball strats are good enough for dregs, but not much more. Winning requires boldness.

im also a bit confused by points payout event to event. I guess at the end of the day everyone has the same opportunity. If the riders run as they are sorted points wise, I assume its hard to get higher points out. Whereas if more top riders effectively crash out and lower riders out perform, that total points, like best possible score, is much higher. as in, Les Gets was ~1800 while VDS was ~1400 (best possible, not winning team)

so far the number one thing i think that matters is spreading out those picks, not just cost wise but being open minded towards every category. les gets had 8 juniors riders in best possible. VDS had 7. also les gets best possible has TWENTY THREE riders picked... and VDS had 19 i think. how many of us are really even getting close to those numbers both in total picks as well as juniors picked? probly a small minority. and keep in mind best possible still picked both elite winners in VDS, while les gets best possible avoided elite male winner.

ultimately once you spread out ~20 picks through out all categories (maybe not evenly in 5s) it then just comes down to luck, especially this year with conditions. still fun tho Smile

Steve really popped off at champs but Arek clapped back at a normal round already so... They effectively split normal rounds.

Also do we think MSA is gonna be absolutely wet in early October... Or has it been unusually dry in fall around there?

I would like it if my points buffer to arek was larger. They really did a great job in the Loudonville round. I am hoping that I can hold on in MSA but in any case it has been a fun competition. A lot more thinking and educated guesswork than pure luck.

Watch out, a feel a 2000 point week brewing from 4th place, going to be wild.

So... No season prizes?

wheres this assumption from? still says it on the how to play page. 5 overall winners receive prizes tho i have no idea wut the prize packages are like for winning anything. potentially the same as every round considering the top 5 may very well have not been a winner of any individual round.

(i stand quite corrected. Arek the legend has won TWO rounds outright, thread has a 3rd, Whiskey has a 3rd, Steve has a 5th) but still obviously a lot of non-OA contenders in the top 5 each round

Eff it, I'm going all-in on emotion for this one!

I don't really have any chance of being top 10 overall after the last few rounds where I took unrewarding risks. Playing it safe(-er)  for this one to try and get me another Vital tshirt at least

Would appreciate it if the top few blokes could tank. Bike would look so good with some fresh sram hardware.

Looking forward to seeing if anyone pulls off a hail mary, or whether the tried and tested strategies prevail

HO-LEE Arek almost did it. Would be very hard to make up 100 points but he closed the gap on that last round with a solid finish. CONGRATS Steve!

As is tradition I finished with my slightly above average performance. As usual. I almost don't want to play again after watching all my favorite picks go down this season Sad

Oh hell yeah! 3rd in the last round!

The secret to my success: forgetting there was a semi final and basing my team around qualifier results 😂

Oh wow. I fully expected that I had thrown it all away in that last round. In fact I was sure of it.

Well done all on a good competition. Certainly made the season more interesting and helped to learn all the riders. Many thanks to Vital for thinking it up and putting it on.

Somehow managed to get into 5th overall on the last day! Way better approach than pb’s fantasy. Their pricing of riders is stupid and good way to be interested in all of the races.

Serious thanks to Vital MTB and SRAM for their outrageous prize package. Totally blew my mind. Really enjoyed the Fantasy competition and do hope that this continues for 2025. Thanks again.
