I go deep on this topic in the review I just put up on the bike. TL;DR, the bike is good but I feel many SJEvo riders should have bought a bike with more travel (myself included). This doesn't make the bike bad, but all the suspension swapping and link changing indicates to me everyone is looking for the bike to eat bumps a little better.

Though I did not test the CC link, I'd wager you are better off buying this link and running the stock shock than you are doing a bunch of shock swapping (at a higher price) etc. The Float X doesn't get a ton of love, but its a better shock than most give it credit for, especially in this application.

EDIT: I bought the link - will update once I try it!

this was an awesome review, I had some similar, but less formed conclusions, so this was helpfull. Look forward to hearing what you think of the cascade. I've raced a few enduros on it now, and think it did ok. When I was "on it" and focused it did great, if anything it excelled at the right trail. But, didn't help me a ton when I got offline in the rough stuff, that's for sure.

Maybe the cascade link, 170 fork and either the push eleven six or fox float x is in my future.
First I’m dialing in the geo a bit. I am waiting for this WRP link to ship form Australia which is taking forever lol and I am going to run that with 29 inch wheels.

Might throw a 55 mm stem on too. We shall see!

I bumped my Zeb up to 170mm for a while, the best part wasn't the extra travel but that with a 170 fork and slack headset cup with the high chain stays was about the ideal geometry for me for gnarly and long bike park stuff.

I've since moved it back down to 160mm with the middle headset cup and high chain stay position, I tried all the other stuff and this is the best feeling for me for do it all setup.

Running a cascade with Super Deluxe air with megneg so the older air shock, I swap to a super deluxe coil for some bike park days.

My initial impression of the CC link is it does what its advertised to do, but it doesn't turn the bike into some bump eating monster. I'll play with a few things and as always, you need a bunch of rides to really make up your mind about something, but currently I'm not sure its worth the money. On that note, I'm also not convinced every rider is going to even be able to tell its on his/her bike (if someone were to blindly test bikes back to back).

The next test will be an o-chain, which I actually think will make a bigger difference than changing progression or adding 8mm of travel.

thanks for that, I've ridden my stumpy at the bike park for a day in which my chainring snapped off my cranks on the first run. Chainless definitely improved the suspension, I cant really compare it against other improvements / bikes though.

Did you come from the mullet link to CC+WRP? For those of us who made that switch it’s a MASSIVE difference. Maybe less so than 29 stock link to CC, but I hadn’t ridden the 29 link in a long time.
