Is this a crack or just a scratch from laying down in my truck bed or scraping on a lift. took it apart and check on the inside and there's seems to be nothing internally. The crack/scratch doesn't start from a edge or so either, its just kinda random. There was a edge you could catch with you finger nail but I got it to a point where there's no edge. try the knock test. get a small allen key and tap around the area. If there is a difference in sound between the crack/scratch, it is probably cracked. For a definite answer get it ultrasound tested by a carbon repair shop, which they may even do for free.

Thats full seperation of the upper carbon layer. ie cracked.

I have never seen a crack in carbon end up being just a scratch.

edit: Exactly why I dont own an intense anymore, we used to buy them often and pretty much every one cracked. luckily the importer here was liable and not intense so we got our money back each time.

That's not a crack.

It's 2 separate cracks. That is double fucked.

Did the knock test no difference at all from what I can hear. All even sounding. From left to right and on the crack itself. I didn't see any cracks inside the head tube either. Intense also has like 3-4 layers of paint before it even gets to carbon so I don't know. I don't wanna jump to the frames trashed

This is a pure example of why many brands want to do away with cable ports.
Lots of frames have cracks around them, many people dont notice them.

Its started at the port, this is 100% warranty so dont panic and let them send a new frame out.

I have the same exact bike. I have cracked 2 front triangles in similar spots and ways. Both covered under warranty. I sanded down the paint to see what carbon experts confirmed were wrinkles in the carbon. I guess this causes structural issues however, the cracks didn’t go into the carbon. It’s easily visible on my frame there is a layup inconsistency.

so i contacted intense a few days ago and a tech said it looked to be a paint problem and not carbon. Said theres multiple layers of paint and clear coat. Said to keep ripping, so i have been past few days (marked the area to see if it gets any worse) and nothing so far.

My question is, for warranty did you have to ship your frame or did they just send you a new one?
