2024 TEAM RUMORS

1/31/2024 11:50am

The Forbidden DH bike would be a good match to Bulldog's Hulk Smash riding style.

On a scale of 1-10 the chances of him riding for forbidden are a super-nought

I'll show myself the door

He's been spotted in Roto-Vegas riding Forbidden..🤔

Gwin trolling the netz on a Thursday.
Meanwhile, Richie's out running around all of Pisgah over the last week or so with Kahn, Neko and who knows who else in the marshy, monsoon weather with nary a pic of Gwinner.
Granted Neko's most recent pic has a rider hiding behind Kahn, so you never know.

With WindRock having been iced in until yesterday, maybe someone will spot him at Rock Creek & break trust by sending spy pics.  After all, the E13 video was shot in his AirBNB up in Hendo, not far from Rock Creek, but pretty sure it's old footage like the wrapped M1.

I only downvoted to get you to an even 10 down votes. Otherwise I'm with you. What is Gwin riding?

Here is the YouTube video from the press release and quotes from Tegan and Fabien!

We are really happy to welcome the young “Canadian Cowboy” Tegan Cruz to the UR Team. Tegan has shown speed during his junior years and we are ready to support him as he deserves for his first year elite in 2024. Tegan just got his DH NS Bikes Fuzz built up and went straight to shoot this video on the North Shore and as you’ll see for his first ride on the new bike and he already feels at home.

“Here it is! I am super fortunate to be joining NS bikes UR team. A team with a solid history at the top of the sport! Excited to join a great group of people. Lots to learn coming into my first year elite, I am fired up to get up to pace on the new bike and get to the races!” -Tegan Cruz

“Tegan is one of the most talented riders of his generation and we are excited to help Tegan reach his full potential. Last year luck was not always on his side with injury so I believe he has a lot more speed to show. Also It’s been only a couples of weeks we have worked together but it’s really nice to see such a appreciative and positive kid.“ - Fabien Cousinie, NS Bikes UR Team Owner

Kelan Grant off of the SRAM Nukeproof factory enduro team

All the Nukeproof stuff is crazy, are any Nukeproof teams even going to exist next year? What's Sam Hill going to do? He seems content not racing and just being a moto dad at this point.

Are we going to see a whack load of announcements today?

I thought I read Feb 1 is when the UCI posts the team lists? Is that correct?

bike on the ground looks like the old style forbiddens in the rear, dreadnought?

wouldn‘t he ride a supernought if he was on forbidden? maybe a loaner.

The dreadnought is such a capable bike, but it’s very difficult to make it playful on jumps so I can imagine if you gave it 50 more mils of travel it would never want to come off the ground.  I think a lot of forbidden free ride team will probably still stay on the dreadnought

Looking at the comments on his post it seems like the team is continuing, but I'm surprised given their financial troubles. Hopefully they sort everything out, because from everything I've seen online they seem like one of the nicest groups of people in the industry and they have a super cool brand image.

I heard a rumor that Cube would have a Factory supported XC squad, with 3 riders. Bart Brentjens KMC Team getting support from Ridley and potentially adding a young Canadian talent to the roster.

Gunnar Holmgren - was confirmed some time ago. I thought he'd end up on Trek, the same as his twin sisters.....

I haven't heard much about him lately. Someone said Raaw a while back? Maybe that's still possible but they are waiting for the V3 frames to show up and he is riding other bikes in the winter.

I second guessed it, because the Pivot ad reads "custom Red Bull helmet graphics", but you're right. No helmet or hat tells me that she's off the silver and blue lids

Nice catch!

I wonder why, it's pretty unusual for folks to leave/not get renewed isn't it?

Can anyone confirm if today truly is UCI team announcement day? Ahm giitin' all jittery.  PS, I would like to suggest we refer to this day, whenever it is, as: 'Listmas'.

I happen to be friends with one of the first Red Bull sponsored mountain bike athletes, at that time, you were considered a Red Bull Athlete for life.  My friend still gets Redbull helmets to this day and she hasn't raced professionally for almost 20 years.  I have no idea if she is still compensated or just considered a sponsored athlete.  I think once there began to be a lot more RB athletes they went to the more traditional "contracts" with specified lengths and could be renewed.  For example, I think Brook Macdonald just announced a few weeks ago that his RB contract was renewed.
