Sams 3rd place is still the best wc run ever put down. I cant see anyone repeating that speed. Thibault would be hard to discount though

Kovarik....14 seconds at Ft. Bill. He was the best racer on the planet at the time. Just wasn't caught on video. I've seen most of the greats in person & Kovarik before his injury was to DH what Ricky Carmichael was to Moto. Untouchable.

Really wish there better footage of the races of that time. We have videos with pieced together clips, but not race runs unfolding to tell the real story.

And of course Sam's 3rd at Champery (again with a crash). Footage of qualy where he smoked 'em by 15 seconds would be mint.
