Suspension has come a long way over the years. One of the major goals each company has in mind is reducing friction so riders can have a suppler ride. There are a many products out there that strive to help reduce this friction. Hearing great things about Buzzy’s Slick Honey grease, I purchased a huge tub of it. After rebuilding my suspension multiple times with it, here are my impressions:
Out of the Tub:
As you can tell from the pictures, the Slick Honey grease has an extremely low viscosity. It was designed for motorcycle suspension so having a low viscosity is key for top performance. The amazing thing about this grease however, is it has amazing ability to stay in place without being moved or washed away. I’ve only used it on my suspension products and the thing I noticed while servicing my fork after 100 hours of riding is, the Slick Honey is still in place where I left it. That’s pretty outstanding performance by anyone’s standards.
When I get a new setup, I remove the lowers and air sleeve of each fork and shock and slide a bit of Slick Honey on each o-ring and seal I can see. After putting it all back together, there is a noticeable difference in plushness what wasn’t there when the suspension came right out of the box.
Although the container says “bike grease” on it, I wouldn’t really apply this grease onto bearings, bottom brackets, bolts or pedals. Because of the light viscosity, I’m not sure how well it would hold up in highly-torqued areas. But as for suspension seals etc, I couldn’t have expected it to perform any better.
Bottom Line:
If you are a do-it-at-home bike service kind of guy and love working on suspension products, Buzzy’s Slick Honey bike grease is an absolute must. It creates a frictionless surface that is ideal for seals. Prices kinda awkwardly (1 oz = $12, 2 oz = $18, and 16 oz = $37) it is totally worth getting the largest size. It will last you a lifetime. Buy this product now!
Slick Honey is the absolute best performing product for lubricating seals, stanchions, shock shafts, and suspension points during routine maintenance. It's the best value per ml of anything else you will buy for your bike. Stays put and slippery than a bee's butt!

Sometimesthe small changes you make to your bike are the ones you end up noticing the most. After years of forgetting about that slick honey stuff I used a while ago, I recently picked up a tub of this stuff. After washing the bike (every couple of rides or so) I will apply it to the suspension and dropper post and the result is a smoother feel as they cycle through their travel. It's a simple and cheap thing to do and has helped the performance of those parts.
Unless you are servicing a rental fleet, go ahead and pick up the 2 ounce tube as a little goes a long way and the 16 ounce tub is really way too much.
Slick Honey has been around for a while now and there's a reason why it's still popular - it works!
