Yeti SB5 LR
The new Yeti SB5 LR is modeled after the bikes the company shred during their lunch rides, hence the 'LR' designation. Differences from stock include an additional 10mm of fork travel coming from a 160mm FOX 36 fork, a piggyback FOX DPX 2 rear shock, and slightly meatier tires. For 2018 Yeti is moving to all FOX Transfer dropper posts, citing improved reliability. Also new are Yeti’s Turq carbon handlebars, which are featured on the highest end builds.
2018 Yeti SB6 Team Replica
New for 2018 Yeti is producing a limited run of 125 team replica bikes. The SB6’s are modeled after what Richie Rude and the Yeti enduro squad run on the EWS. Changes from the typical SB6 are an additional 10mm of fork travel to 170mm via FOX 36 RC2 fork, Shimano XTR drivetrain, and details galore including color-matched bits all over the place. Just add a boat load of fork pressure and see if you can go as fast as Richie!
Yeti TURQ.Air Apparel
Yeti’s new TURQ.Air apparel features sun protection, anti-microbial fabrics, and ultra-small vents throughout. The venting is on the extreme side of things, making the short and long sleeve jerseys ideal for hot days on the trail. The shorts are also heavily vented. Prices run $100 for the long-sleeve jersey, $80 for short-sleeve, $140 for the shorts, and $50 for gloves. The gloves are smartphone compatible.
Additional updates to Yeti’s apparel line for 2018 include a new pocket on their Enduro short (their most popular model) and additional mesh on their bib shorts for added durability.
